Pool Policies and Rules

The following policies and rules are designed to safety and pleasure for all homeowners and their guests. It is the responsibility of each homeowner to inform their guests of all pool rules. Each homeowner is personally responsible for the conduct of their guests while on Edgewater property.

Safety
Safety is the top priority. Lifeguards are provided to ensure the safety of all swimmers and are not allowed or expected to act as baby-sitters. The following safety rules are in place to ensure that everyone has a safe, enjoyable time, while at the pool:

  • Children younger than 14 will not be permitted in the pool area without an adult 18 years or older.
  • In the case of lightening or thunder, everyone will be cleared from the pool deck. Failure to comply with the lifeguard’s instruction to do so may result in the immediate deactivation of the homeowner’s pool card for one week.
  • Ten (10) minute breaks will be taken once every hour. Everyone under the age of eighteen (18) is expected to get out of the water during the breaks, as instructed by the lifeguard. Failure to do so may result in the immediate deactivation of the homeowner’s pool card for one week. Children accompanied by an adult are not allowed in the pool during the break, unless they are infants.

Please be prepared to show valid, state-issued identification if requested by a lifeguard. No intoxicated individuals will be allowed in the pool. No exceptions to either policy shall be made.

Controlled substances are not permitted. Persons displaying alcohol or drug intoxication will be denied use of the pool facility and will be referred to the Raleigh Police Department.

Lifeguards are NOT permitted to make exceptions or accept payments. Any member who provides access to the pool for members with delinquent accounts will have their access denied. Please contact KDK, Inc. with all new additions to your family or changes to your personal information so there will be no question at the pool gate check-in.

Your access card is linked to your personal information. Do not trade or allow others to use your access card for any reason. If you provide your card to others who have had their cards deactivated for any reason, your card will also be deactivated.

KDK, Inc can be contacted Monday thru Friday to bring your account current. If your account is not current by Thursday at 12:00 pm, you will not be able to use the pool until the following week. This policy will be enforced from opening day.

Guest Policy
A homeowner/family may be allowed up to 2 guests at a time. Guests must sign in upon entering the pool. Name, address and phone number must be printed clearly in the guest log or access to the pool will be denied.

Other
In the past, there has been some leniency with granting access to the pool. American Pool has been contracted to manage the pool and the lifeguards are required to follow all rules without exception. Please do not ask the lifeguards to make individual exceptions. All requests should be directed to KDK, Inc.

Please handle all furniture gently. Sitting on tables or standing on lounge chairs will not be tolerated and is grounds for immediate dismissal from the facilities. If you are responsible for damage to the furniture, you will be responsible for these charges and they will be added to your KDK, Inc. account. Access to the pool will be denied until the damaged furniture has been paid for.

The Edgewater Board of Directors wishes you a happy and safe summer!
